Quote in winter. Buy in spring. Keep your margin.
A wedding is quoted months before its flowers are bought, and the stems cost more when the day comes. Bloompath puts a buffer on the quote for the months that run dear, and keeps a record of what you paid — so next year's buffer can come from your own numbers.

The price moves between the quote and the purchase
You price the wedding in November and buy the roses in March, in the week everyone wants roses. The quote stayed where it was; the cost did not. Nobody did anything wrong — the calendar did it. Without a buffer, the difference comes out of your margin, after the work is done.
A buffer on the quote, per event
Set a percentage on the event: your studio default, or a different figure for this one. Add an extra bump for your busiest months — the ones that run dear every year. The buffer sits on the quote; your recipes and your shop prices stay exactly as they are.
Shown as a line, or folded in
Some clients want to see why spring costs more. Others want one price. You choose: the buffer appears on the quote as its own line, “Seasonal adjustment”, or it is folded into the prices and nothing on the quote names it. Either way the total is the same.
Bloompath remembers what you paid
Every price you pay goes on record: the price you type on a material, the price on a supplier invoice you confirm, the price from a catalogue you import — each with its date and its supplier. That is a price history for every flower, made of what you actually paid. It is already there, and it grows with every purchase.
Next season, the number is yours
Once you have a season on record, Bloompath reads it back while you quote, flower by flower: “Last March you paid 18% more for this rose.” The suggestion comes from your own purchases and nothing else. Your first season builds the record; from the second, it works for you.
Questions florists ask
Does the buffer change my recipe prices?
No. Recipes keep their prices, and so does the shop. The buffer belongs to the event: a percentage on the quote made months ahead, shown as a line or folded into the quoted prices.
Can one event have no buffer at all?
Yes. The studio default is a starting point; each event carries its own figure, and a quote for next week needs none.
Will Bloompath suggest a buffer from day one?
No. Before you have a past season on record there is nothing to read back, and Bloompath does not invent one. Set the buffer by hand the first year; every purchase you record builds the history the suggestion will come from.
Where does the price history come from?
From what you actually paid: the price you type on a material, the price on a supplier invoice you confirm, the price in a catalogue you import — each dated, each with its supplier. Nothing is estimated, and nothing comes from outside your studio.
What does the client see?
What you decide. Shown, the buffer is one line on the quote, “Seasonal adjustment”, with its percentage. Folded in, the quoted prices include it and no line names it. Your cost and your margin never appear either way.
Which months count as the busiest?
The ones that run dear for you. Valentine's is everywhere; Mother's Day falls in a different month from one country to the next; some countries have their own spring days. You name your months, and the extra bump applies to the events that fall in them.
